Gallery Social, 2009

Drywall, steel, cinderblocks, stage lights, cables, clamps, Koestrizer beer, and pint glass.

Gallery Social was my MFA solo thesis exhibition. It took place in the Department of Architecture's Hartell Gallery at Cornell University in 2009. The installation, which functions as a stage set, includes a duplicate of architect John Zissovici's movable wall. His original wall serves as the support for the stagelights. All gallery lights have been removed. The combination of lighting, wall, and prop allow for multiple inadvertent positions to be taken up, from viewer, to performer, to object, within an unscripted space.
